Alessandro Gallo studied at Central Saint Martins and Chelsea School of Art, graduating in 2002. The photographs on which his screenprints are based are of metropolitan animals, caught in an instant of an improbable day. The addition of an illogical element makes their presence plausible but still fictional, so they are like unaware actors. Gallo's work is influenced by cinéma verité.
