This
year Panter & Hall are celebrating the
enormous diversity in contemporary painting.
We have selected
six immensely talented artists who represent
the very best in their stylistic fields.
As ever, the exhibition has an emphasis on Scottish
painting: Chris Bushe and Simon Laurie,
from Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively, make
a welcome return to Art London. Chris continues
to astound the public with his sumptuously textured
abstract landscapes in vibrant, glowing
colours, while Simon further explores the possibilities
of perspective and dimension through his
drily witty still-life paintings.
Two Englishmen carry the flag for representational
painting: Mark Demsteader, whose assurance
of line in drawing the female form is unsurpassed,
and Steve Whitehead, whose sheer technical
ability places him at the front rank of British
Photorealists.
To these we are delighted to add David FeBland,
a New York painter of international stature. |
